Green Jobs

– AN EXTENSION OF THE ‘A PERFECT PLANET’ CONVERSATION STARTED BY DAVID ATTENBOROUGH
This week, Green Job creation, has again made the news; we wholeheartedly agree and say it’s about time. From our Founder and CEO having a well-established passion for the environment (sparked from studying GCSE and A Level Geography), to our long-term interest in this planet continuing to be the only one in the universe known to sustain life, in our view it is about time we speak about work and careers in industries that protect the planet and all our futures. In the news, government investment in this sector has been talked about recently and for some time before. In November last year (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54978454), the UK government released its 10-point plan to make the UK carbon neutral by 2050 and invest £4bn in creating 250,000 new jobs. The CBI (Confederation of British Industry) have advocated on several occasions: (June 2020) https://www.cbi.org.uk/articles/green-recovery-priorities-following-coronavirus/ (September 2020) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54138583 (even as recently as last week) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57221957 Some innovative organisations operating in this sector already include:

So we already see hope in the way businesses are changing to help the planet. Another vaccine to the doom-and-gloom that the current coronavirus situation has brought humanity might be that we re-engage with what makes the planet Earth unique, and that we start to protect it. We have a sense of the outstanding and remarkable resilience of the natural world and the infinite ways in which everything around us is interdependent. We all must evolve, grow, and adapt to cooperate and collaborate to survive. Taking a step back to marvel at our world’s miraculous marvels, and perhaps find some meaningful, fulfilling and rewarding work to be part of that journey might be the next step for you. An excellent resource for finding jobs in the green sector of the economy is: https://www.greenjobs.co.uk/ We’re more than delighted to have the discussion with you about how your qualifications, skills and experience might benefit any number of employers and organisations working to protect the planet and secure all our futures.
